Default U. Henkeli Necropsy (Graphic)

One of the many reasons that big chunky substrate scares the crap out of me. I got this from the Repashy forums, posted by Andrew Gilpin. I will never, ever use any bark chips, nor have I ever. To each their own, but I've seen too many of these types of outcomes....

Very graphic, but also very interesting.

I now remember why I use newspaper substrata for my snakes. It's not just because I'm cheap, - it's for other good reasons too.

Thanks for posting Jasmine.

Thanks for posting that Jaz. I'd been warned about cypress mulch as well before but being the stubborn fool I am ignored it for my cresteds (yet strangely had removed it from everything else) and lost two beautiful juvies a few months ago, which we strongly suspect was due to this. Can't be 100% sure without a proper dissection but they were pretty aggressive at going hard after crickets. This is a great wakeup call at any rate.

I now use only sphagnum & peat for any humidity needing animals I have (and have for some time). Much safer & far more "natural" as well.
