Question Do Tiger Salamanders make noise?

I feel like I'm going crazy!
We have 3 Tiger Salamanders and a few other pets, cats, snake, fish, toad. Lately I have been hearing a weird, almost 'cat meow' sound.
    Is this the salamanders?
When I hear the noise, the cats are asleep and the toad is still under ground.
So, I have ruled them out.
I searched the web and didn't come up with much. Some sites say "yes, salamanders make noise" some say"No, salamanders can't hear,so they don't make noise".

I do not have any salamanders but I do have two blue tailed newts. During a feeding my female bit my male and I personally heard him give a little scream.

Newts are salamanders. Specifically, seasonally aquatic, rough-skinned members of family Salamandridae.

Some salamanders are known to have a voice of sorts, most notably Dicamptodon. However, the sound you describe doesn't "sound" like a salamander to me.
The trend is to post names and numbers of "pets" here. That seems...um...bulky.

I have 6 of them but to be honest I doubt I would ever hear them if they did make a sound, the crickets in my reptile room seem to drown anything else out lol

yes tiger salamanders will make noise on occasion but Ive found most of the noise any salamanders and newts make is from the intake of air/food/ interaction with tank mates i don't know if they specifically generate sounds that are not accidental

According to my sister, tigers can also do a form of growl/hiss. My Charlie doesn't make a noise at me (or could be that due to ear problems, I simply can't hear it.)
